iSchool Initiative’s “Donate to Educate” Program

Everyone knows schools don’t have money right now. Budgets are being cut every year and teachers are losing their jobs. So how can you get your classroom ahead of the global competition out there an become a true 21st century classroom? I asked myself this same question and found a solution for iSchool Initiative to help classes in need of change.

We have recently launched an all new program called “Donate to Educate”. With the recent launch of the iPad 2, it brought new hope for classrooms in need of mobile devices. We have created a way for those tech savvy people, who always want the latest technology, a way to give back to their community. With new technology coming out every year, there are millions of older generation mobile devices sitting idle in someone’s living room. With our new “Donate to Educate” program, you can donate your mobile device to iSchool Initiative and we will send a set of devices for a classroom in need!

So if you are looking for an excuse to upgrade to the iPad 2, here is your way out! Donate to iSchool Initiative, receive a tax deduction, and make a difference in a students education.

Teachers, you can go on our website and apply for a classroom set. If you are selected, you will receive mobile devices for your class and the iSchool initiative team will work with you every week to get the most out of your new devices!

  1. Hi Travis,
I met you at KSU at SoCon 2 years ago and your name has popped up recently at a planning meeting for a teacher Tech Camp I am helping to lead for Fulton County Schools. Kathy Politis mentioned that you might be interested in presenting your take on the value of tablets for students. Please email me at: shieldsk@fultonschools.org so we can discuss possible dates and times. Thank you. Kathy Shields

Your request is honorable but there might not be many people that can afford to just give away an iPad. Don’t get me wrong, I hope that there will be many devises given to your cause.

If people were to donate devises and money to schools then teachers could transform their way of teaching. This would help your overall goal of taking paper and pencil out of schools. It would even be good if just a few iPad’s could be donated so that the world could see the benafits of your proposal first hand.

  5. Hi,
My name is Amelia Bumpers and I am an EDM310 student at the University of South Alabama. I think that this is a wonderful idea. I know the area I’m from does not have the money in their school system to buy a bunch of iPads for the classrooms. Most schools don’t right now. But the schools are definitely who needs the money more than anyone. How can our students get the best education if the schools don’t have the proper technology? Hopefully this program will help with this problem in our schools today.

  6. Hi, my name is Meredith Anderson and I’m in EDM310 at the University of South Alabama.
This new program is so exciting! Schools are in such a economic slump nowadays. The donations to this program will change the lives of so many teachers and students! This will help to open up a whole new portal for 21st century learning in classrooms that can’t afford much. I am definitely going to spread the word!

Hello, My name is Bretta Wright. I am a student in EDM 310 at the University of South Alabama. Public education is so sad these days. There is no money for young students to have book, or even a decent education. As an aspiring educator, I admire this program. Donations to this program would be help teachers and students in a way that I can not even explain.
